Chiefs Defense One of NFL's Best

The Kansas City Chiefs have rattled off five consecutive wins, in large part thanks to a defense that ranks among the best in the NFL.

Kansas City's defense allowed just eight points and 197 total yards in a 19-8 win over the Denver Broncos. The defense on the season ranks second in the league in points allowed per game, and fifth in yards allowed per game.

Chris Jones has also built on his Defensive Player of the Year nomination from last year, with 5.5 sacks in five games this season. The Chiefs defense has been elite at getting to opposing quarterbacks, currently third in the NFL in sacks.

The defense will have a tough test this weekend to continue their status as an elite group, battling star quarterback Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers will be missing key weapon Mike Williams, who is out for the season, but still feature one of the league's best running backs in Austin Ekeler, and one of the best route running wide receivers in Keenan Allen.
