The Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas State Wildcats both received honors today with the release of the preseason rankings and all-conference team for Big 12 basketball season.
KU was selected as the favorite to win the conference for the 20th time in program history, earning 12 of 13 possible first place votes. The Wildcats are picked to finish sixth.
Additionally, new Jayhawks big man Hunter Dickinson was named both Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, with Baylor's Ja'Kobe Walker named Preseason Freshman of the Year.
Dickinson, along with point guard Dejuan Harris Jr, were both selected to the all-conference team, along with L.J. Cryer of Houston, Emanuel Miller of TCU, and Max Abmas of Texas.
Kansas State guard Tylor Perry, and forward Arthur Kaluma were both named honorable mention all-conference, along with Jayhawk forward Kevin McCullar Jr.
