After struggling to stop the run late in a loss to the Detroit Lions, the Kansas City Chiefs are getting their star defensive tackle back.
Chris Jones and the Chiefs have agreed to a restructured one year deal for the 2023 season.
The deal includes incentives and performance bonuses that allow Jones to make significantly more than the base $19.5 million he was slotted to make.
Senior NFL writer Jeremy Fowler explains the changes in the new deal.
Jones was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year last season, and should be able to join the team for the Week 2 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
