Coffeyville Improves to 1-1 Shuts Out WInfield


?Field Kindley bounces back for a week two win over Winfield 14-0. Coffeyville's week two matchup agianst the Vikings was a tough fought grind it out win, with two big play by the Nado being the difference.

 

After a scoreless first quarter, Winfield had it fourth and goal at the one with a chance to score first. The Nado would force a four yard loss on the fourth down play and take over on offense at their own five yard line. After a two yard gain on the hand off to Josh Shobe, Coach Deonta Wade would bring in his wildcat package moving Shobe to quarterback. Shobe would reward the decision taking it 93 yards for the first score of the game.

 

The Nado would hold their lead heading into halftime at 7-0. Coffeyville would strike first in the third quarter as Aaron Tunstall would take the opening kick-off back 83 yards and what would be the final touchdown of the game.

 

The Nado defense came to play in week two forcing two Vikings turnovers on intercepetions by Tunstall and Keshawn Hayes. Winfield was held to just 72 yards rushing on 31 carries and passed for 134 yards with Vikings QB Landen Dupras just 11/30 passing. Shobe would lead the Nado offensively with 142 yards on 14 carries.

 

Coffeyville heads to Columbus for their week three matchup.
