Nado Fall Week 1 to Mulvane

Field Kindley starts the season with a loss falling to Mulvane 28-25.

The Wildcats got things started early jumping out to a 14-0 lead capitalizing on the the Nado's inability to get anything going offensively. The Nado also struggled with self-inflicted penalties stalling drives. The Nado finally got themselves on the board in the second quarter cutting the lead to 14-7 heading into halftime. Coffeyville would score first in the second half on a 61-yard touchdown run by Aaron Tunstall. With the Wildcats lead trimmed down to 14-13, they would once again score 14 unanswered points extending their lead to 28-13 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Nado cut into the lead on two home run plays on fourth downs. The first was a long pass from Axel Erne to KeShawn Hayes for a 64-yard touchdown.

The second came from Tunstall who on fourth and 28 would take it 60 yards on a gutsy play call by the Nado coaching staff. Unfortunately, the Nado ran out of time for their comeback attempt. Tunstall finished the game with nine carries for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Erne was 10/15 for 138 yards and two touchdowns. The Nado had nine penalties for 75 yards. Coffeyville hopes to bounce back in week two for their home opener against Winfield.
