Jayhawks Football Player Charged in Alleged Bomb Threat

A Kansas University football player is facing charges following an alleged bomb threat at the team football facilities.

Kansas Jayhawks offensive lineman Joe Krause, a 21-year old redshirt sophomore from Prairie Village, was arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on Monday and charged with "aggravated criminal threat; [causing] terror, evacuation or disruption," per Shreyas Laddha of the Kansas City Star.

The Anderson Family Football Complex, David Booth Memorial Stadium, and Beatty Family Pavilion were all evacuated on Monday for the safety of athletes, staff, and coaches. KU Athletics released a statement saying "We take the safety of our staff and student-athletes very seriously. We are gathering more information and will have no further comment at this time."

If convicted under Kansas law, Krause could face a fine of up to $300,000 or up to 136 months in prison.
