Kansas Football and Basketball to Receive Facility Upgrades

The Kansas Jayhawks are eager to return to the football field and basketball court, and will do so with some upgrades to the facilities.

Athletic Director Travis Goff recently sent a mass email to Jayhawk fans providing an update on these changes and how they will improve the athletics at the university.

The Gateway Project will be a major renovation project that includes a gateway to campus, non-football amenities, and a new and improved football stadium. Goff mentions in the email that a construction manager has been hired to help refine cost and timeline for the project.

The full vision for the Gateway Project will be revealed later this year.

There is also a two-phase remodel of Allen Fieldhouse, which is currently underway, and will conclude following the end of the upcoming season.

Currently, upgrades to the men's staff suite, east side entrance, and premium donor spaces are being worked on. There will also be improved concourses, a new "Jayhawk Pub", and a new team store.

These changes are expected to be finished by the start of basketball season in November.
