Junior College Star Transfers to Kansas State

A safety who became a superstar in his freshman season at Tyler Junior College has transfered to Kansas State to continue his career.

Daniel Cobbs of Keller, Texas, chose a scholarship from KSU over other offers from Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion, and Texas State.

While Tyler J.C. had an up and down season, ending with a 5-4 record, the defense allowed less than 100 passing yards per game. Cobbs is slightly undersized compared to the modern hybrid safety, standing at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, but has elite instincts and coverage ability.

Cobbs becomes the fourth commit from the NJCAA in the last 18 months for Kansas State. Cobbs will team up with former teammates Kobe Savage and Justice Clemons.

Cobbs is the younger brother of current Boise State wide receiver Stefan Cobbs.
