Following being struck in the head by a line drive, Royals left-handed pitcher Ryan Yarbrough will be sidelined for the next two months.
The Royals placed Yarbrough on the 60-day injured list with skull fractures, after he was hit by a line drive last week against the Oakland Athletics. The team announced that Yarbrough will receive follow-ups from the medical staff over the next month.
Yarbrough has pitched in 10 games this season for Kansas City, with three stars, pitching to a 6.15 ERA and 14 strikeouts.
The Royals also placed pitcher Amir Garrett on the family medical emergency list and called up right-handed pitcher Mike Mayers from Triple A Omaha.
