The NFL revealed the schedule for the 2023 regular season, and with it, the path to a repeat for the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

 

Kansas City will open the NFL season on Thursday Night Football against the Detroit Lions on September 7th. Although the Lions are an organization known for struggles, Chiefs coach Andy Reid says that they are much improved and to not take them lightly.

 

The Chiefs will travel to Jacksonville in Week 2, New York in Week 4 to battle new Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and will welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to Kansas City on November 20th in Week 11.

 

A rematch of the past two AFC Championships will take place on New Year's Eve at Arrowhead Stadium when the Cincinnati Bengals come to town. Following a dominant defensive performance by the Chiefs in January, Reid says he thinks the young defense is ready to take the next step.

 

Kansas City is the current betting favorite to repeat as both AFC and Super Bowl champions.
