Red Raven Point Guard off to D1

The floor general of the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven offense has accepted an offer to play at the Division 1 level.

Point guard Camian Shell officially committed to North Carolina A&T University earlier this week, and will join an Aggies program that has made ten NCAA tournaments, but haven't qualified since the 2012-13 season.

Shell, a North Carolina native, appeared in 30 games for the Red Ravens last season, serving as the starting point guard in 27 of them. He brought high basketball IQ to Coffeyville, and Red Raven coach Jay Herkelman says he gave him comfort running the offense.

Shell averaged 7.3 points per game, but was a lethal 3-point shooter at 45% from beyond the arc. Shell also led the team in assists at 3.9 per game, and was an elite on-ball defender.

He will have three years of eligibility remaining when he reports to NC A&T.
