Red Ravens Compete in Region VI Championships

 

The Coffeyville Community College track and field teams competed against the best in the area in the 2023 Region VI Outdoor Championships hosted at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

 

The men's team placed 3rd overall in the region, as well as a 2nd place finish in the KJCCC East Division. The women's team place 10th in the region, and 4th in the KJCCC East.

 

The Ravens had numerous top performers, including Nokoah Witt placing 1st in the 400 hurdles, Anthony Woods placing 1st in the long jump and triple jump, and Trevor Gunzell placing 1st in discus and shot put, including a facility record in the discus throw.

 

On the women's side, Gartasia Crawely placed 2nd in the high jump, Angela Sanchez placed 2nd in the discus throw, and Jalia Bunn placed 3rd in the 200 meter.

 

The track and field teams will be back in action at the NJCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships from May 18-20 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
