Royals Name Players of Month for April

 

The Royals have announced the organization's players of the month following the conclusion of April.

 

At the Major League level, Vinnie Pasquantino was named player of the month. Pasquantino was also the winner in September of 2022. New Royals lefty Aroldis Chapman was named pitcher of the month.

 

At Triple-A, left-handed pitcher Austin Cox was pitcher of the month, after posting a 2.21 ERA in 20 innings pitched. Utility player Samad Taylor was named player of the month, hitting .333 with 8 extra base hits and 11 stolen bases.

 

The Double-A level was awarded to left-handed pitcher Anthony Veneziano, who had a 2.08 ERA in five starts with 31 strikeouts and only three walks. Second baseman Peyton Wilson wins player of the month with a .351 average and .407 on base percentage.

 

High-A Quad Cities rewarded third baseman Cayden Wallace, who led the organization with 21 runs batted in and 13 walks drawn in the month of April. Right-hander Luinder Avila won pitcher of the month with 29 stikeouts and a 1.56 ERA in 17 innings.

 

And Low-A Columbia named shortstop Daniel Vazquez and left-hander Frank Mozzicato as players of the month. Vazquez hit at a .314 clip, and was a perfect 9 for 9 in stolen bases. Mozzicato, a top prospect in the organization, had 34 strikeouts and a 1.42 ERA in 4 starts during the month.
