Royals Shutout Orioles in "Best Game of the Season"

The Kansas City Royals displayed a bit of everything last night, with dominant pitching, timely hitting, and strong defense in a win over a tough Baltimore Orioles team.

The Royals had 13 hits and didn't strike out once as the offense showed one of the best plate approaches of the 2023 season. Vinnie Pasquantino homered and had three hits on the night to lead the Royals, and manager Matt Quatraro says his unique hitting approach is the reason why he's such a consistent presence for the team.

Zack Greinke threw five shutout innings, and the quartet of Taylor Clarke, Aroldis Chapman, Amir Garrett, and Josh Staumont combined to finish off the final four frames.

Quatraro called the performance easily the team's most impressive of the 2023 campaign.

Kansas City will look to take down the Orioles this afternoon in the series finale, before welcoming the Oakland Athletics to town this weekend.
