Matt Quatraro Earns First Win

After a tough opening weekend for the Royals, first year manager Matt Quatraro gets the first career win checked off in a 9-5 victory over the Blue Jays.

The Royals bats came to life, with eight of the starting nine players recording hits in the game. Brady Singer also impressed in his first start of the season, pitching five innings and only allowing one run with eight strikeouts.

Bobby Witt Jr and MJ Melendez each had multiple hits, with Melendez hitting his first home run of the season as well.

Quatraro says he's happy to get win #1, but he's more excited that the results at the plate finally showed up against a tough pitcher in Jose Berrios.

The Royals will look for back to back wins over the Blue Jays, sending Kris Bubic to the mound to face Yusei Kikuchi for Game 2 of the four game series.
