Following a season where the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens saw themselves in the national Top 10 rankings, and numerous big wins and big performances, they came up short of their ultimate goal.
The Ravens saw their season end with a 76-70 loss to the Barton Cougars on Friday night in the Region VI semifinals, missing out on a chance to go to the National Championship tournament.
CCC had won the first two meetings of the season with Barton, in large part due to the dominance on the glass. However, the Cougars were able to flip the script and outrebound the Red Ravens en route to a come from behind victory.
The Ravens led by two at the half, but struggled mightily from the 3-point line, shooting just 31% from beyond the arc.
Landon Glasper led the Ravens with 31 points, and Cougar Downing had 25 for Barton. Coffeyville will look to next season, where key players Hayden Brittingham, Camian Shell, Glasper, Soti Nafpliotis, Amare Haynie, Izek Jackson, and Javarzia Belton are all eligible to return.
