Royals Off to Hot Start in Spring Training

There have been many reasons to be excited so far with the Kansas City Royals, from young players performing well, to three wins in the first four organized games.

Kansas City dropped their first game of the spring earlier today to the Milwaukee Brewers, after winning each of their first three. However, with the spring focus on player performance and development, there have been plenty of players turning heads to this point.

The Royals, typically known for speed and defense, have been mashing baseballs so far this spring. The team has the second most home runs out of any team in the league, and is also 7th with an .880 team OPS.

The team has seen a nice balance of contributing players, from known pieces Hunter Dozier and Salvador Perez, to young stars MJ Melendez and Vinnie Pasquantino, and even some non-roster veterans, like Matt Duffy and Franmil Reyes.

The Royals still have nearly a month to gain reps and figure out the best 26 players for their Opening Day roster, when they battle the Minnesota Twins on March 30th.
