The Kansas Jayhawks are currently projected as the top overall seed in the East Region, according to ESPNs Joe Lunardi. Other potential 16 seeds that the Jayhawks could see are Morehead State, Howard, Alcorn State, and Farleigh Dickinson.

The Kansas State Wildcats are projected as a 4 seed in the Midwest Region. The Midwest Regional final will take place in Kansas City. The projected matchup is with the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, the anticipated champions of the Sun Belt Conference. Additional projected 13 seeds that could be on the radar are Utah Valley, Yale, and Hofstra.
