The final home game for a group of five Fredonia seniors was spoiled by their rivals in our High School Basketball Game of the Week.

 

Cherryvale was able to defeat the Yellow Jackets in a physical battle for the second time in as many weeks, this time with a 65-59 final.

 

Brock Robertson led the Chargers with 21 points in a night that Stetson Schafer was not at his peak form, and senior forward Danny Vigil was outstanding on the offensive glass. Sophomore Carson Ellis also was a spark providing 10 points for Cherryvale.

 

Ashton O'Neal and Jeremiah Couch both played well for Fredonia, and senior Joel Dutton converted on four 3-pointers on the night, but it was not enough for a Fredonia team that did not lead the entire game.

 

Our next high school game of the week will be Friday night in Sedan, as the Blue Devils host the Central Raiders at 7 p.m.
