Wildcats Drop Tough Game to Texas Tech

Kansas State lost a winnable game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday to drop to 19-6 on the season, and 7-5 in conference play.

The Wildcats dug themselves into a hole early, trailing by seven points at the half in Lubbock. KSU also had a season high 23 turnovers in the game, which led to 28 points for the Red Raiders. This is also Kansas State's fourth consecutive road loss.

Markquis Nowell had 18 points to lead the Wildcats, but only shot 5-19 from the field. For the first time all season, Keyontae Johnson was held under 10 points, as the senior could only muster 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Coach Jerome Tang says that live ball turnovers cost his team the game, and that the team will need to be physically and mentally tougher moving forward if they wish to win games to finish the season.

Kansas State hits the road to Norman, as they battle the Oklahoma Sooners Tuesday. Pregame is scheduled for 7 p.m. with tip at 8 on Sunshine 98.9 FM.
