Coffeyville Community College baseball is officially underway after a four game sweep over Arkansas State University Mountain.
The Red Ravens will see a number of first-year contributors, with infielder Carson Schrack already off to an impressive start to his career. Schrack hit .667 over the weekend with a home run and 12 runs batted in. He was named KJCCC East Player of the Week.
Jake Martin leads the Red Ravens as head coach, and he says that his team's approach at the plate is designed around speed and hitting the ball hard.
Martin believes this team can take the next step and compete on a nightly basis this season, and says that his team will be worth the trip to the park.
Red Raven baseball will be heard on KUSN 98.1 FM all season long, with the first broadcast Wednesday February 15th against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
