Red Ravens Split Doubleheader with Blue Dragons

While both Coffeyville Community College teams held double digit leads against the Hutchinson Blue Dragons, only one was able to leave Nellis Hall with a victory on Wednesday night.

The Lady Ravens drop their third consecutive game, falling to Hutch 68-63. Coffeyville was outscored 26-7 in the final quarter by the Blue Dragons.

Monae Duffy led Hutchinson with 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Mya Williams contributed 15. Jordynn Connor was the leading scorer for the Red Ravens, finishing the night with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

In the nightcap, the Red Ravens were in control for a majority of the game, and played one of their strongest 40 minutes inside Nellis Hall this season.

Hutchinson was held to just 41% shooting on the night, and a team that averages over 100 points per game was out of sync on the offensive end. Star forward Aaron Franklin had 15 points in the first half, but only two points after halftime.

Jordan Wildy was excellent, converting 10 of 11 shots for a game high 24 points on the night. Hayden Brittingham added 14 points and Soti Nafpliotis had 17 off the bench and converted five 3-pointers.

The Red Ravens will head on the road this weekend for a matchup with Montgomery County rival Independence. Coverage will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday on KUSN.
