Red Ravens Face Tough Test with Butler

The Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens hit the road for a doubleheader against a pair of nationally ranked Butler Grizzlies teams.

The Lady Ravens were able to edge the Grizzlies in their first matchup at Nellis Hall, winning by a 68-60 final score. Butler was held to just 37% shooting in the game, and the trio of Jordynn Conner, Kennady Roach, and Kyleigh Ortiz combined for 52 points for the Red Ravens.

The Lady Grizzlies enter on an 8-game winning streak, and feature a stout defense that only allows 56 points per game.

The men's game features a battle between a pair of teams separated by just a game. The Red Ravens enter the night atop the Jayhawk conference, however Butler was able to steal a win in Nellis Hall in the first matchup by a score of 70-64.

The Grizzlies feature elite scoring diversity, with six different players averaging at least nine points per game. Butler has also been incredibly difficult to beat at home in the Kyle Fisher era, posting a 46-8 record across 3.5 seasons.

Coverage of the Butler Grizzlies and the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens begins today at 5:30 p.m. CT on KUSN 98.1 FM.
