Jayhawks Exact Revenge Against Wildcats

With conference standings, history, and pride on the line, the Kansas Jayhawks gritted their teeth and showed flashes of the defending national champions in a statement win over their in-state rivals.

The Jayhawks were in control for a majority of the night in a 90-78 win over the Kansas State Wildcats from Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. KU hasn't lost consecutive home games since 1988-89 and hasn't been swept by the Wildcats in four decades.

Jalen Wilson had 20 points, bringing his total to 133 points scored in the last five games. That's the most points by a Jayhawk in a five game span since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996.

Keyonte Johnson had 22 points and 12 rebounds for Kansas State, but it was a frustrating night for the road Wildcats as they were a half step behind in almost every facet of the game.

Both teams share identical records at 18-4 and 6-3 in conference play. They will resume action this weekend when KSU hosts the Texas Longhorns and KU heads on the road to battle the Iowa State Cyclones.
