For the first time in their 247 game meeting history, the Kansas State Wildcats and the Iowa State Cylcones matched up as Top 15 teams, with the Cyclones winning a thriller 80-76.
It was a back and forth affair for a majority of the night, with 13 lead changes and 7 ties. Both teams were extremely efficient offensively, with the Cyclones shooting 52% from the field, and Kansas State shooting 57% from the fioor.
Markquis Nowell had his seventh 20+ point performance of the season, dropping 23 points with 9 assists as well. Cam Carter had 15 points without missing a shot, and Keyontae Johnson ended with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wildcats drop to 17-3 on the season, and suffer their second loss in conference play. They will return to the court on Saturday for the Big 12/SEC challenge with a matchup against the Florida Gators, Keyontae Johnson's former school.
