Red Ravens experience success in first year under Kelley

The inaugural season of the Deardin Kelley era at Coffeyville Community College came to an end with a final record of 26-10.

Kelley mentioned that although her first full season as a head coach came with plenty of ups and downs, her support staff made life drastically easier as she learned the ropes and experienced the process.

The team experienced multiple extending winning stretches throughout the course of the season, beginning the season 8-1, as well as winning eight consecutive games during October.

The instant success for Coach Kelley and the volleyball program not only positively impacts this season, but also makes recruiting much easier down the road. Kelley says she gets a head start in building future Red Raven rosters because it's a program that is on the rise.

The Red Raven game to an end in the semifinals against Johnson County, however the coaching staff took notice of CCC's growth on the court and as a program. Kelley says it gives her reassurance that she's doing a good job and that this program is one of the most exciting groups in the KJCCC.

The Red Ravens will have many more eyes on them next fall as they look to make the leap to championship contenders.
