Colbert's Five TD Night Advances the Nado to Round Two

 

Field Kindley advances to the second round of the playoffs with a 40-30 win over El Dorado. After a scoreless first quarter, the Wildcats would strike first capitalizing on a short field after a Nado fumble taking an 8-0 lead on a Gannon White touchdown run. The Nado answered right back in three plays punctuated by a 33-yard touchdown run by Jeremy Colbert, his first of five on the night. Coffeyville would strike again before halftime on a 37-yard touchdown run by Colbert taking the 14-8 lead into halftime.

 

El Dorado opened the second half by recovering their onside kick and need one play by QB White, who took it 50 yards for the touchdown and the 16-14 lead in the third quarter. Nado QB Axel Erne and the offense would answer right back as Erne hit Colbert on a 24-yard touchdown pass taking the lead back for Coffeyville 20-14. After an El Dorado fumble, Colbert would find the endzone for the fourth time on a 38-yard touchdown run. The Nado found the endzone one more time before the end of the third on a four-yard touchdown run by Colber, his fifth touchdown of the night.

 

El Dorado would keep it close in the fourth cutting the lead to a two-possession game but the Nado had the answer holding on to their lead and advancing to the next round. Both teams had great games on the ground. Coffeyville had 342 yards rushing on 36 carries with five rushing touchdowns. Colbert run 19 times for 191 yards, Josh Shobe had 7 carries for 64 yards and a 17-yard touchdown and Lamarcus Allen had 7 carries for 68 yards. El Dorado had 415 yards rushing on 61 carries and four rushing touchdowns. The Wildcats were led by their QB, White, who had 18 carries for 146 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Coffeyville will head on the road to take on Towanda-Circle in round two.
