A track and field record has been broken at Field Kindley High School.
Junior Makayla Strickland has set the new record for the 100-meter hurdle. Strickland set the record with a time of 16.09 beating the previous record of 16.34 in 1995. The record was set at the Montgomery County track meet in Independence.
Track Coach Jeremy Neuenschwander says Strickland overcame a pretty bad crash from the week before and came back more determined. He says she responds well to coaching and has put forth a tremendous amount of effort along with her great ability to get better.
