Red Raven Women Cruise to Victory on Sophomore Night

The Coffeyville Red Ravens dominated throughout Wednesday’s game against Northwest Kansas Tech, doubling the Mavericks up for a 79-35 victory on Sophomore Night.

A slow start plagued both teams through the first quarter, but while the Mavericks continued to struggle through the second, Coffeyville began to shine. The Red Ravens outscored NW Tech 28-12 in the quarter, blowing the game wide open and leading to a 41-20 halftime lead.

Coffeyville didn’t slow down out of the break. The Ravens continued their rapid scoring pace, further pushing the lead and essentially deciding the game even before arriving at the final quarter. The fourth quarter came and went, and the Ravens claimed their dominant 79-35 victory.

Faith Simpson recorded a double-double Wednesday, with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Devin Wright also scored 10. The 45-point win is their largest margin of victory over a KJCCC opponent this season, surpassing the 30-point win over Pratt on Monday. The Ravens are 19-10 on the season, 13-10 in KJCCC play, and now await their seed in the upcoming Region VI tournament.
