Bullpups Maul Tigers

The Caney Valley Bullpups continued their winning ways and were able to easily dispatch the Commerce Tigers in Oklahoma Friday night 50-35.

The Bullpups only allowed Commerce to tie the score once at three-a-piece before they employed a 2-3 zone defense that seemed to puzzle the Tigers. At the end of the first period, Caney Valley held a 13-7 lead, and Commerce would get no closer than that the rest of the game as hot shooting and stingy defense from the Bullpups held Commerce to only 16 points in the second half of play.

The Bullpups Anthony Rogers dominated the inside with a season-high 18 points despite foul trouble while Jack Billingsley netted 13 points all via the 3-pointer. The Tigers were paced by Evan Thomas and Aiddenn Vanatta with 10 points apiece.

The Bullpups finish the home portion of their schedule as they host the Dewey Bulldoggers Tuesday night.
