The Red Raven men continued their winning streak Monday, completing the season sweep of Cowley, 71-61.
The first half was low-scoring, but it was not low-paced. Both teams looked to push the ball up the floor to get a chance at transition points, but ultimately neither team would be able to match their average pace for the season. A Love Bettis trifecta with just seconds on the clock gave the Ravens the edge, 26-25.
The two rivals couldn’t seem to separate from each other in the second half, with numerous ties and lead changes throughout the period. Outside shots reigned supreme as Bettis and Cowley’s Clarence King looked to keep their respective team out in front. Ultimately, it would be the Ravens who had a little more left in the tank, as
Bettis led all scorers with 25, continuing an impressive stretch of performances. AJ McBride had 12, Deng Mayar had 10. The Red Raven men are now 9-8 on the season, 6-5 in conference play, and have won 4 straight games.
