Red Ravens Cruise to Second Straight Win

A strong second half led the Coffeyville Red Ravens to a comfortable 90-69 victory over the Pratt Beavers on Saturday.

The Ravens never trailed in Saturday's contest, but the first half was a closely-fought affair. Despite only allowing for just one turnover, and forcing several from Pratt themselves, Coffeyville struggled to convert those mistakes into baskets, letting Pratt stay just a few points behind. A last-second basket for Pratt cut the lead to just 2 points at the half, 33-31.

Things stayed close for the first portion of the second half, but locker room adjustments seemed to make all the difference. The Ravens shot over 50% from the field across the final 20 minutes, and also shot 50% from three-point range. An 18-3 run frustrated the foul-plagued Beavers, leading to a double-technical that only served to cement the Ravens' dominance. The lead continued to expand, becoming its largest at 24 points, but the final margin of victory settled at 21 points at 90-69.

Blaise Keita all scorers with 24 points on 7-12 shooting. He was also 10-13 from the free throw line. He was joined in double digits by Love Bettis with 16 and Dayshawn Wiley with 12. The Red Ravens are now 7-8 on the season and 4-5 in conference play. They'll stay at home next Wednesday, playing host to the Seward Saints.
