The Nowata Lady Ironmen sank 12 three-pointers en route to a 58-41 victory over Field Kindley on Saturday.
Saturday's contest was the 7th place match in the 2021 Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament. The first half started out slowly enough, with the Field Kindley girls even taking a 7-point lead. However, Nowata's Mackenzie Barnes would change the game from the bench, checking in midway through the first quarter and scoring 20 points before the end of the half. The Lady Nado found themselves trailing by 5, 27-22.
The game's true turning point game in the third quarter. Continuing to fire upon Field Kindley from long-range, Nowata scored its first 18 points of the half from beyond the arc. With Field Kindley unable to keep up, the lead grew and grew, until eventually settling at 17 points for the 58-41 final.
Teagan Titus led all Nado scorers with 17 points. Taylor Caron reached double-digits as well with 13. The Lady Nado are 0-3 on the season and take 8th place in the Nowata-based tournament.
