Turnover problems and foul trouble doomed the Field Kindley girls, as the Lady Nado were beaten 43-32 by the Chelsea Dragons in Nowata on Friday.

The Lady Nado got going quickly, jumping out to a 6-0 lead, but an ensuing Chelsea run gave the Dragons their first lead of the game. As it turned out, that would be the only lead necessary. Coffeyville found their chances at the basket limited due to several turnovers throughout the ballgame.

A 22-16 lead at the half would turn into a double-digits for Chelsea, as Coffeyville was limited to just 3 points in the third quarter. Scoring became a little easier for the Nado in the fourth quarter, but foul trouble gave Chelsea several attempts at the free-throw line. The free points allowed the Dragons to maintain their lead, eventually taking the 11-point victory.

Chaunte Porter led all Coffeyville scorers with 10 points, while Olivia Ransom added 9. The Lady Nado advance to the 7th place game in the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament. They'll play the loser of Nowata and South Coffeyville at 10 AM. That game will be broadcast on Sonshine 98.9, KQQF.
