Lady Nado Drop Opener

Field Kindley was unable to shake off a slow start as they dropped a 55-28 decision to Oklahoma Union in the first round of the 2021 Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament.

Both the Lady Nado and Lady Cougars got off to a slow start as neither team netted a basket nearly halfway through the first quarter. After two free throws from the Lady Nado to tie the game at 2 apiece, Oklahoma Union went on a 7-0 run to push their lead to 9-2 and the closest the Lady Nado would get the rest of the night was at the end of the first quarter where they trailed 11-4. Field Kindley struggled from the free-throw line going only 7-21 from the charity stripe.

The Lady Nado were led in scoring by Olivia Ransom who started her first varsity game with 7 points while Makayla Strickland added 6 points and Taiylor Caron chipped in 5.

The Lady Nado start the season at 0-1 and will move to the consolation side of the tournament bracket where they will play Chelsea, who dropped a 61-34 decision to Mannford earlier in the evening, at 4 pm Friday. You can listen to the game on Sonshine 98.9 KQQF.
