West Elk Wins Two Over Oswego to Begin Season

The West Elk Patriots opened up their basketball season in style, taking both the girls (38-23) and boys (64-22) contests against Oswego in our first Game of the Week on Friday.

Seniors Garrett Toon and Wesley Young were an effective one-two combination, crashing the boards and finding many opportunities for second chance points. The Patriots led 16-0 after the first, 40-11 at the half, and 56-20 in the third quarter. Running clock would end the game a little early, with West Elk claiming its first victory with a final score of 64-22.
