For the fourth straight season, the Caney Valley Bullpups were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs after being dropped by Girard by a score of 35-8.
After both teams swapped punts on their first possession, Girard march down the field and capped off the drive with a 13-yard pass from QB Luke Niggemann to Gage Davenport to give Girard a 7-0 lead.
After a three-and-out by the Bullpups, Girard RB Ethan Davidson ran around the left side of the line almost untouched for a 20-yard touchdown to up the lead to 14-0.
After touchdown runs by RB Jaden Norris and RB Beau Harris, Girard capped off their scoring with a 72-yard bomb from Niggemann to Wyatt Foley to make it 35-0 at the half.
The second half saw a running clock but just as it looked like Caney Valley would be shut out, a trick play would get the Bullpups onto the scoreboard.
Caney Valley ends its season with a 5-4 record. Girard will host Parsons next week as the Vikings beat Prairie View 28-26.
