Big Second Half Leads Titans to Win over Bullpups

Caney Valley drops their last game of the regular season on the road at Columbus, 30-8. The Bullpups struck first late in the opening quarter on a 53-yard touchdown run by senior RB/QB Trey King. Early in the second Caney had a chance to extend their lead after a Columbus fumble on the punt return. Bullpup RB Baylor Thornton would find the endzone only to have it called back on a holding penalty. That penalty would prove to be costly as the Bullpups would fail to find the endzone the rest of the game. Caney would take the 8-0 lead into the half.

The second half was a completely different story as the Titans would take over the game. On the backs of RB Gabe Martin and QB Brett Hamilton, Columbus would score 30 unanswered points in the second half to pick up the victory and the three spot in the division. Caney falls to the four spot and awaits the winner of tonight's matchup between Frontenac and Girard.

King led the Caney offense with 117 yards on 20 carries and their one touchdown. Hamilton ran for 113 yards on just 7 carries with three touchdowns and added a touchdown through the air on a 37-yard pass to Cole Minor. Martin led Columbus in yards with 139 on 20 carries.
