Both the Coffeyville Red Ravens and Independence Pirates football team saw their rankings rise in the latest NJCAA polls, released Monday afternoon.

The Ravens, coming off of a 22-13 victory over Dodge City, are now ranked #9 with a 2-0 record. Meanwhile, the Pirates posted a 69-0 victory over upstart program McDougle Technical Institute, good enough to move the team up one spot to #6.

One other Jayhawk Conference team kept its spots in the rankings-- Garden City also moved up one spot after easily defeating Fort Scott in its first game of the season.

The Ravens will be back in action September 25th against Highland, while Independence takes to the field this Saturday against Fort Scott.
