Nado Drop Home Opener

Turnovers and penalties hurt Field Kindley as they fall in their season opener to Augusta 48-0. In a game that saw an hour and a half weather delay, the Nado turned the ball over five times with nine penalties. Eight of those flags came before the weather delay with, seven and half minutes left in the second quarter, and only one after. The Nado also had numerous fumbled snaps but were always able to recover the ball.

After a stalemate for the first part of the first quarter, Augusta's offense rattled off 28 consecutive points to end the quarter. In the second quarter, before the weather delay, the Nado made a change at running back bringing in Jermey Colbert Jr. Colbert brought and breath of fresh life into the offense picking up the Nado's first first down of the night. Colbert was able to put together a couple of good runs back to back, but after a two sacks and fumbled snap the Nado were looking at a 4th and 38, killing all momentum. Augusta controlled the game from after the rain delay on. FKHS heads on the road to take on a tough opponent in Columbus next week.
