Caney starts the season 1-0 with a convincing win over Fredonia 49-18. Both teams opening possessions took time off the clock as it was noted up at six with three minutes left in the first quarter. After that Caney ran away with the game scoring 30 unanswered points to lead 36-6 at the half. Caney would open the second half on defensive forcing a four and out and four plays later extended their lead.

Caney would go on to win the game 49-18. Trey king had 14 carries for 160 yards and four touchdowns and Baylor Thorten had 10 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Caney had 324 yards rushing and 383 total yards of offense. Next week Caney welcome the Bluestreaks of Neodesha
