For the first time in three seasons, the Independence Community College football team will have a returning head coach. The Pirates were 5-2 last season and are just two seasons removed from winning the conference championship. Coach Jason Martin says the strength of their team is their experience.

Coach Martin says with the return of the playoffs it's going to be important to stay healthy and have depth at the end of the season. He says there are two conference races this year the regular season and the playoff season.
