The Field Kindley golf team competed at state this week in Dodge City. The team had their best score of the year on what is one of the toughest courses they have played. On day one Jacob Vanderlinden shot a 113, Daric Voss a 102 and Zane Cox a 99. Two golfers advanced to day two of the competition both shooting 89s, their best score of the year.

On day two, Zac Becker one-upped his day one performance shooting an 84. Unfortunately, Tyler Zimmerman after shooting an 89 on day one was sick for day two and had to withdraw from the tournament. Coach Mike Peck said at the start of the season they had 5 young golfers that had never played a varsity golf tournament let alone a regional or state golf tournament, so for two of them to make it to the second day and the others make it to state, it was a huge accomplishment.
