IHS Golf Finishes 2nd in Solid Performance at Fort Scott

 

The Independence High School boys' golf team had another solid output top-to-bottom finishing second with a 397 at their tournament in Fort Scott yesterday.

 

The Bulldogs finished 21 strokes behind first place Frontenac (376) and ten strokes better than third place Pittsburg (407). Field Kindley finished fifth with a 415, just five strokes behind fourth place Paola (410).

 

As for the Bulldogs' individual efforts, one-bag Jimmy Unruh finished with a 97 (49-48), tied with their four-bag Chris Lewis (49-48). Their six-bagger Jase Mavers actually finished third on the team with a solid 101 (50-51). Two-bag Mason Messinger finished with a 102 (49-53), three-bag Anthony Siebels finished with a 107 (51-56) and five-bag Emery Birde finished shot a 109 (55-54).

 

The IHS Golf team is scheduled to be back in action tomorrow in Parsons and again Thursday in Ark City.
