The Coffeyville Red Raven football team shutout the Highland Scotties on the road with a final score of 30-0. It was a long, slow game that took all of three-and-a-quarter hours to play, but when the dust settled, it was the Red Ravens defense that stole the show.

 

The score was just 7-0 after 30 minutes of action with the lone score coming on a nine-yard touchdown run from Red Raven running back Star Thomas.

 

Both offenses continued their sluggish play to start the second half with punt after punt. Finally, with 5:06 left in the third quarter, the Red Ravens opened the floodgates. That 75-yard strike to Cortarious Wilson would give the Red Ravens a 14-0 lead, and they wouldn't look back.

 

The defense followed the score with a safety and two more rushing touchdowns to secure the blowout win.

 

Coffeyville's offense was led by their ground game with Star Thomas carrying the ball 17 times with 111 yards and the score. Cortney Jackson also found the endzone with 15 carries and 61 yards.

 

The Red Ravens improve to 2-1 as they host Butler next Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
