Several Red Raven Men Recognized in All-Conference Basketball Awards

 

After another successful campaign, several members of this year's Red Ravens men's basketball team were recognized as part of the KJCCC All-Conference Awards.

 

Head coach Jay Herkelman was named the KJCCC Eastern Division Coach of the Year after leading the Red Ravens to a share of the division title. This is his 15th time receiving the award.

 

Sophomore guard Tylor Perry was named to the KJCCC East First Team after averaging over 16 points a game this season. Perry led the conference in three-point shooting percentage and was second in the conference in total points scored.

 

Center Blaise Keita was recognized as the KJCCC East Freshman of the Year, and was also named to the Second Team. Keita, who has committed to Nebraska, averaged 9.6 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game.

 

Finally, Bostyn Holt and Love Bettis were each named as KJCCC Honorable Mentions. Holt, a sophomore, shot 57.9 percent from the field this season, good for tenth in the conference. Meanwhile, Bettis led the Red Ravens in free throw percentage, sinking 39-of-42 for a 92.9 percent clip.

 

The Red Ravens will start their run at a national championship on Monday, heading to Hutchinson for a first-round matchup against Southwestern Tennessee.
