Kaminska Gets Complete Game at Riverfront Stadium

Former Caney Valley Bullpup and current Wichita State Shocker pitcher Jace Kaminska pitched a complete game in the first ever baseball game held at the Riverfront Stadium in Wichita.

Kaminska went the distance against Houston throwing 105 pitches allowing just six hits, two walks and one earned run while ringing up seven batters. This was Kaminska's fifth outing and his third start with an almost non-existent ERA of 1.07.

Riverfront Stadium was supposed to be the home of the Wichita Windsurge for the 2020 season as the Triple-A affiliate for the Miami Marlins. This was ideal considering the highly-anticipated arrival of Wichita's own Jazz Chisolm, who played in high school at Life Prep, playing second base. Instead, with the 2020 season's cancellation and the delaying of the 2021 MiLB season, the first game at the brand new shiny Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita, where Lawrence-Dumont Stadium used to stand, hosted its first ever game Saturday with the former Bullpup stealing the show.

The Shox went 7-1 in their eight-game stretch against the Cougars with Kaminska getting two wins in that span. Wichita State is on the road at Tulane next on Friday.
