Coffeyville's comeback attempt fell just short Friday, as the Red Ravens fell to Hutchinson 76-75 in their Region VI tournament semifinal.

After trading blows early in the contest, Hutchinson would eventually start pulling away, leading by as much as 14 in the first half. The Blue Dragons used quick passing and second chance shots to punish the Ravens for mistakes. Coffeyville would eventually put the lead down to 11 heading into the break. Out of the locker rooms, the often-focused second-half Ravens started to chip into the lead, led by leading scorer Tylor Perry. The lead would bounce between 6 and 8 points for several minutes, but a Hayden Brittingham slam would give Coffeyville the momentum they finally needed to tie the game back up at 61.

The final few minutes would see several more lead changes, but at 74-72, Perry was sent to the free throw line for a chance to tie the game. He would sink the first, but after missing the second, Hutchinson was called for goaltending, putting Coffeyville up by 1 at 75-74. The Ravens would create chaos on defense, poking the ball away from the Dragons, but unfortunately, Hutchinson's Majok Kuath would find a prayer after scooping the ball up with just 1.2 seconds to play. Coffeyville's last second shot would fall short, sealing their early exit from the tournament.

Perry led all Ravens scorers with 19, and was joined in double digits by Bostyn Holt, who had 14. With the Region VI tournament in the past, the Red Ravens now look to receive a potential at-large bid to the NJCAA tournament later this month. There are eight bids available.
