The Independence Lady Pirates will be heading to the Region 6 Championship game. The Lady Pirates dominated the number 1 seed Hutchinson Blue Dragons 75 – 56 in the semi-final round Friday afternoon. The Lady Pirates led by as much as 25 in the second half and were led by Maisa Marcal with 19 points. The Lady Dragons were also ranked 20th in the nation before falling to Independence this afternoon.
The Lady Pirates will face the winner of the Barton-Butler game to be played tonight, for the Region 6 Championship from Friends University in Wichita tomorrow night at 6:00pm. Fans will be able to hear that game live on KQQF Sonshine 98.9FM
