Ravens Smack Conquistadors

The Coffeyville Red Ravens put together a complete effort in all three facets of the game on Saturday afternoon as they smacked Dodge City 38-10.

The Ravens got off to a quick start as running back Cortney Jackson sprinted downfield for a 55-yard touchdown on the second play of the game. The two-play drive took just 53 seconds off the clock and Coffeyville took a 7-0 lead.

After a 32-yard Skyler Seagraves field goal, CCC was able to strike quickly again as they returned a punt to the DCCC 15-yard line and Cortney Jones immediately ran it in for his second touchdown of the day to give Coffeyville 17-0 lead that they took into the halftime break.

Dodge City started the second half by driving down the field but the drive stalled. Their field goal attempt was then blocked and defensive back Tayvn Jackson scooped up the ball and returned 71 yards for the touchdown to give the Ravens a 24-0 lead.

Jackson was able to put the exclamation point on the game by intercepting a Kobe Copple pass 34 yards for the touchdown to arrange the final margin.

Coffeyville Quarterback Kolbe Langhi went 10 of 20 for nearly 200 yards and a touchdown pass. Cortney Jackson paced the ground attack with 71 yards on six carries and two touchdowns. Cortarious Wilson hauled in two passes for 80 yards and touchdown reception.

Coffeyville will be idle next week before returning to play at Highland on April 18th. Kickoff will be at 1 pm with the pregame show starting at 12:30. You can catch the game on KUSN 98.1 with Jared Sleppy and Kyle Hey on the call.
